ABUSE IS NOT JUST PHYSICAL

Being hit, slapped, punched, dragged, choked, restrained, or pushed are all some examples of physical abuse. But many women are abused mentally and verbally even though their partner never actually causes physical pain.

 

October is Domestic Abuse Awareness Month and Restoration Advocates created a Shades of Abuse campaign to illustrate what mental and verbal abuse may look like. See the images below.

  • If you need help, contact us. We have resources for you.

  • If you are in an emergency situation, call 911.

    • The responders can help you contact us after you are safe from the immediate threat.
